Douglas Michaels, age 41, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. He was born on July 19, 1974 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Douglas and Sandra Michaels. He worked at Explorer as a pipeliner. Douglas loved spending his time riding his Harley Davidson. He will be remembered as a loving son, fiancé and father. He is survived by his fiancée Michelle Mendilut; son, Alexander Michaels; father Douglas Michaels Sr. and many other loving family members and friends.Douglas is preceded in death by his mother Sandra Michaels. In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated. A visitation for Doug will take place Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
