I first met Doug back in 1991 thru our mutual friend Clementine Carroll. Over the years Doug became a good friend. He was always willing to help when needed, I looked forward to his presence at our Los Viajeros rides and during the last several years Doug cared for my horse- feeding and cleaning Dixie daily. I had the pleasure of meeting doug only a few years ago, when I joined the Los Viejeros Riding Club. My first ride out, Doug made me feel so welcome, with his teasing ways, especially because I was riding an Arab, but there was never any malicious comments, just good-hearted teasing. I began to look forward to him on the rides, as he and Noel had a way of making a newcomer feel welcome.

I, as will many others, miss him dearly.

I only found out today about Doug's passing. I am so sorry and saddened to hear the news. Doug was my oldest son's godfather and a wonderful person. Noel, my heart goes out to you.
