Not sure what to say?

Met him at the Thunder Over Michigan Airshow. He had a keen interest in my WWII tanks I had there. Then he recognized my T-shirt and identified me as a firefighter, and the conversation opened up. What a delightful gentleman. I was thinking about him today. Great guy that was a friend to many. Being in the Fire service for over 40 years myself many of my friends far and wide across the country spoke positively about Doug and what a great guy he was.

RIP sir.

This man will be missed! What an inspiration to all. I only wish I could have seen him more. All my best to Myrt and family and you're all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to read of Doug's passing. Please know that my thoughts are with you all.

To Doug's family,

My deepest sympathy for your loss. It was such a priviledge to work for a man like Doug. SO kind and friendly. I worked at Pierce from 1978-1996. He always had a smile. Great man and great family.

To Lynn Anne, Mrs. Ogilvie, and the rest of the Ogilvie children please accept my deepest condolences at this time of sorrow in your family. My heart sunk when I read the news.

What a wonderful man Doug was. He was my Sunday School teacher and he took us boys to the Science and Industry Museum for the day. He also hired me to work at Pierce Auto Body for a summer job when I was 16. The workers there told me to take a Gardner's Bakery truck around the corner to the paint shop. I drove it a little bit too fast and the body fell off. Doug was so good about it. He came up to the truck window and said, “John, do you think you might have been going a little bit too fast?”...

Ann Joel and whole Ogilvie family,

Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. He will live on in so many ways.

I will always remeber him driving by our house in one of his (old) cars!-

Todd and Jody Ziegler

So sorry to hear about your dad. He will be truly missed.

Thanks, Doug Ogilvie, for making me feel welcome when I was hired by Pierce as a young man. You took me to your home (during a work day afternoon!) and showed me your car collection, just trying to make me feel comfortable. I have not, and will not, ever forget that act of kindness.
