Not sure what to say?

I recently became aware of Doug's passing. Please accept my whole hearted and deepest condolences. Doug was a kind person who meant so well and cared so much. We met while our time at MDAR. He was truly a great person who handled a lot of things. Rest in peace Mr. Doug. You will be truly missed.

One of us worked with and supervised Doug when he was a fledgling psychiatric social worker in Haverhill. Concurrently, and afterwards, he worked part-time in a mental health agency headed by the other. Unfortunately, neither of us have had much contact with Doug over the past 2 decades. We do remember him for his intelligence, integrity, and compassion. We were deeply shocked to read the recent obit. article in the Boston GLOBE. The Commonwealth of MA is a much better place because of Doug....

We are so sorry to read of Doug's passing. He was a wonderful, kind and intelligent man. We hope the wonderful memories of the past help you all through this sad time.

I met Doug here at the Department and we automatically had an understanding and a sense of humor. He was a welcoming man and loved each other. I wanted so much to have lunch with him because that is what we wanted to do. I know where Doug is he is peaceful and resting and no more worries. God Bless Him1

Please accept my sincere condolences in Doug's loss. I enjoyed working with him and will always remember Doug for his kindness and for the love he shared with his staff at the MA Dept. of Agricultural Resources.

Doug Petersen was a good man. We served governors from different parties, but both were commited public servants as Commissioner of Agriculture in Massachusetts. RIP Doug.

I have so many fond memories of Doug. Doug was a great champion for the environment and for campaign finance reform. He was a great person to work with and to work for. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

The first time I met Doug he was dressed as Abraham Lincoln at a seniors home in Marblehead. I was there with our kids on Halloween and likewise so was Doug. His kids were the same age. He always had a bright smile and was pleasant to everyone. We have since relocated but I saw the obituary in Sundays Globe.
All our condolences to Nancy and the kids.

So sorry to learn of Doug's passing. We served together in the Legislature and had many great conversations during our late night sessions. I have fond memories of our time together. He was a good man.
