Doug was a bright light in the life of my family and myself. Can't help but wonder what he is now involved with on the spiritual side of the wall. As we draw nearer to the time when Christ will return to the earth we know that strong spirits are preparing the way for that to take place. Grateful for knowing Doug and his good family.

A great human being. Knew Doug where he wrestled with my brother Judd for Brighton HS. Worked with him on the Cottonwood Heights Business Advisory Board. He is missed!

I had the privilege of working with Doug on a couple of organizations over the past couple of years, the main one being the Mosquito Abatement District. I was shocked to learn of his sudden passing. As I was perusing the comments and photos on the page I notice you never saw him without that wonderful smile. He was such a positive person to be associated with and I doubt he ever met anyone who wasn't an immediate friend. His passing will be a great loss to the community and his family. ...

I am sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I just found out and I am in shock. I will miss him. I met Doug after finding his ID and a credit card on the side of the road. He had lost them from his pocket while canvassing my neighborhood while running for the city council . We met where I found his things and searched for another missing card. We walked 1700 E and talked. After that I supported Doug in his campaign. As a councilman he was very helpful and supportive of getting a sidewalk on the...

The sound of Doug's one-of-a-kind laugh and the fun of his teasing will always be a tender memory for me, but above all, I'll forever cherish his friendship and presence while growing up in the Forest Bend (or old 12th) Ward. I can't think of any good story my dad shares that doesn't have Doug Petersen in it...seriously! His gregariousness was unrivaled as was his knack for adventure (and good-natured humor!). Doug was a regular presence in my adolescent life, whether pal-ing around with...

Tory and I give our most sincere condolences to Cathy and all of the family. We too were shocked at his passing. I grew up with Doug in Butlerville, then Cottonwood Heights. We enjoyed countless adventures in the area hunting and fishing. Draqs cave was a favorite place to be in the summer hunting and just spending time out in the wild. To many memories to list but know of our love for you all. He and Mark are catching up I'm sure ! All our love Alan and Tory Hintze
