Dear Christine, you don't know me nor I you but I am an EDSer in Adelaide, South Australia. I just wanted to send you and your family my deepest sympathy and love. May peace and comfort surround you now and forever. Oh my
Christine I just saw you and knew something was different...then you told me about Doug. I had to sit down. It was certainly unbelievable on my behalf and I cannot understand; why Doug? You are surrounded by Doug's incredible family that you have so graciouslly spoke of for years, I know they will always be there for you. You are strong, and Doug will always be by your side. Remember, you will always have a home here with Jon and I.
Be well and Be Chris, the Chris that Doug fell...

Dear Chris and Melanie,
You both are to be admired for all you did for Doug in the past several months. Heaven will have a special place for you!
Doug was such a special person! I will always remember him as a gentle, yet strong soul - someone who put others before himself. I will never forget putting together the trampoline for Hanna - I think we drove Doug nuts, but he never lost his cool! I have such fond memories of all of you - you are family!
You are all in my...

Dear Chris, Melanie and family,
As you know, we are deeply saddened by your loss of Doug. He was very special to Bob and me and we will never forget the wonderful times we had together. You both always opened your home and hearts to us. When we were so far from home, you became our extended family. We will always remember our escapades in Tillamonk and AZ and NM. We think of you and Doug all the time and hope your memories will ease the pain.
We love you and miss you. Bob and Rose...

I'm very sad to hear about Doug. He left far-flung bunch of people he worked with, laughed with, and lived with and we're all the better for it. I met Doug at IDC in the early '90s and I learned that, with Doug on the job, there was always a resource when things got tough or when someone was needed who could address a nut that needed cracking. No matter the job, client, or project, reminiscing later we always smiled and remembered the good parts. One of those "good parts" was Doug.
