Dear Pollard Family,
Our sincere condolences for your loss. We want you to know that Coach Pollard will always be remembered in our family as a very special person who made a significant difference in the life of our daughter while she was at Moravian College. Dear Donna, Casey & Katie,

From the entire Joseph family our deepist sympathies on the passing of Doug. Words cannot express how much he ment to everyone whos life he touched. Coach P's first years at Mo were also mine. He recruited me, mentored me, inspired me, gave me job so I could stay in school and was always there when I needed him. I will never forget him and how much of a positive influence his teachings had on my life.

Dear Donna, Casey, and Kate,
Nick and I are very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. We will keep you in our thoughts.
With deepest sympathy.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear the news about Coach P. He was one of the nicest people I have ever known and I feel very fortunate to have met him. He was not only a great person, but a great coach. He was always very supportive and encouraging. I can not imagine Moravian without him. He will be greatly missed, but I will never forget him and all the encouragement and joy he brought to all of us at Moravian. My sincere condolences to the Pollard family in this difficult time.

During my first few days at Moravian, I decided to give running at the school a try. I walked into the athletic office and inquired on what I need to do to get on the cross country team. Seeing that I was a bit lost and uncomfortable, Doug took me outside and waited with me for the cross country team to come back from practice to introduce me to the coach to see if I could get on the team. It was a kind and thoughtful gesture and typical of Doug. It started a fantastic relationship I had with...

One of the really good guys in this world. I covered Moravian sports for 10 years while at The Globe-Times and people like Doug, Rocco Calvo, Ed Little, Scott Dapp, John Makuvek, Jim Walker, Mary Beth Spirk, Ann and Greg Skutches, Dawn Ketterman, John Byrne, Cliff Koch and Truman Eshbach made it a joy. We were lucky to know you, Doug. Moravian was lucky to have you.

Tears. The only thing a man can do upon hearing news like this is cry, because the times are infrequent when he meets a man like Doug Pollard. Coach, you are a truly wonderful man, one I will not soon forget.
