My father also died at age 49 so I know how shocking and traumatic it is for the family. My prayers will be for you all. Doug was a good friend and a marvelous serve-and-volley tennis player who was better than me. We had a lot of fun together. I know how much he loved his family. God bless the Proebstings!

I loved playing tennis with Doug. I've never played a more relentless serve-and-volley competitor in my life. He was always gracious and classy on the court and kept the game in the proper context. But it was the beer afterward that I really enjoyed the most. Doug was easy and fun to talk to. I admired his professional skill and liked to hear about his career and the way it was advancing. I pray his family is more at peace a year later. God rest his soul!

Mary and I are deeply sorrowful over the death of your sons. We remember being your next door neighbors when these boys were young and seeing them grow to manhood. Truly this world has lost two fine gentleman. Life is so unfair. We send our prayers. Par

My heart goes out to Doug's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Doug and his close friend, Scott Bentley through business and became annual golf foursome. His energy, positive attitude, passion for life, incredible knowledge, and truly genuine care for people/ family/friends was one-of-a-kind and I feel blessed to have shared time with him over the years. I am truly saddened by his passing yet know that He is looking down on all of us everyday and will cherish is style and...

We didn't know you Doug but we do know your Mom & Dad, Sue & Dave and they are special people in our lives. To know them is to know you because you have a special family, with special people and your parents are the most lovely people we know. Our loves goes with your family and friends and we hope that your faith will bring you through this terrible time. The smile in your picture is the smile that I see in your mother all the time in our time in Florida. Be at peace, Doug and take...
