Not sure what to say?

David Mann formally of Millburn New Jersey now living in Youngstown area of Ohio very sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Reed. He was truly a leader of young men taught me a lot about life and how to live your life through the scouting and camping. He was a great man. My condolences to Art and family

Beth and I are saddened to hear of Doug´s passing. He and Shirley were our neighbors and friends for decades. Doug became the "go-to" guy in our neighborhood; he was always there to lend a hand or the right tool, or his expertise. And as has been mentioned by others, there were many snowy mornings when neighbors awoke to find their sidewalks already cleared by Doug and his snow blower. As a dog lover, he befriended our dog and truly spoiled him with steak bones, long walks and other treats....

We were saddened to know that Douglas Reed has passed away. The Reeds (Douglas and Shirley) had been our neighbors for over 20 years in Millburn. They welcomed us in the neighborhood. When a fallen tree destroyed a portion of our deck, he offered to fix it. During huge snowstorms, he helped the neighbors with his snow blower. He and another neighbor...

A: Mr Reed was my Boy Scout Leader in Troop 16-Wyoming Church for over 7 years. He mentored me throughout my time in Scouting, eventually allowing me to attain the highest leadership post in the Troop. There are so many great memories of Mr Reed in and out of scouting. Camping trips (even in sub freezing temperatures), long grueling hikes around Essex County, summer camping at Camp KEP each summer, Friday night Troop meetings in the basement of Wyoming Church, 1969 National Boy Scout Jamboree...

It is with sorrow I read of Doug´s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Doug in the Purchasing Department at Dun & Bradstreet for years. He was kind and always a gentleman to me. I first met Doug at 99 Church Street prior to making the move to Murray Hill. I know did a lot of giving in his retirement years as one of the "Old Guard". I hope his work continues. My condolences to the Reed family. Matthew McKay
