I am so sorry to hear of Doug´s passing. We graduated from Bethlehem central together. We were not close friends, but casual acquaintances, and he was always friendly and positive. High school was socially challenging for me. Doug was a bright spot.

We knew Doug through so many phases of his life: swimmer, coach, insurance professional and friend. My favorite memory of him is this: Doug held the record in the 200 Individual Medley event at BCHS for many years. In 1996, our son Brian surpassed Doug's time at the Section II championship meet. Doug was in the stands and somehow made his way onto the pool deck during the race. Doug was the first person to congratulate Brian as he got out of the water. Doug was an all-around good guy,...
