Douglas Starkey "Doug" Shadbolt

ran across the news of Dougs passing by accident
I didn't know him well, but memory came back of his impression on me
We had Spanish class together. Our teacher was always picking on the boys to make the girls laugh. Doug whispered jokes about the teacher and he was so funny....beat him at his own game
Anyway he sat behind me in the class and spent the period making jokes, shoving my chair around and making me blush
Walking in the hallways he always called out loudly if...

I count Doug as a friend from the Benton Center studio that I could always laugh and joke with, but I respected his art and I'm happy that I have a few of his pieces to treasure. He is missed and discussed often at the BC, and I think he would like that.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Wishing you peace to bring comfort face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold on to. May God continue to comfort your family.
