Not sure what to say?

RIP - Doug and thanks for letting me off the hook a couple times.

St Bernard's was family as were the coaches. Doug will always be fondly remembered as part of our family.

Coach Sharples. My mind is filled with wonderful memories of you. You gave so much to all your runners and asked nothing in return. You took no praise for all the tremendous work you did with and for us. Your runners were all better people because of you. You contributed to all of our lives. I cant thank you enough for the positive impact you had on my life. Rest in peace , you will be forever missed.

RIP Coach. We were so lucky to have you, and you changed my life. Our reunions won't be the same without you.

RIP Coach. We were so lucky to have you, and you changed my life. Our reunions won't be the same without you there.

Coach- Each and every athlete that ever ran for you will remember and love you. You changed many, many lives for the better, including mine. A heartfelt thank you.

Helene and family, I was so sorry to read of Doug's passing. We grew as neighbors and classmates graduating from NFA in the class of 1960 also with you. He certainly was well loved by his students and fellow coaches, and friends. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending you a hug. Nance Darrow Morin

Thankyou family Sharples for sharing Mr.Sharples with SO many athletes. A long time a go baby sitter at your house and runner

Coach Sharples was indeed firm but fair. As both my Honors Biology teacher and track coach, he expected your best every day. I was not a science guy but the study (and practice!) habits needed to meet the standard he set became foundational to my success in college and my professional life. An exemplary teacher and coach. My condolences to family and friends.
