Not sure what to say?

Sure do miss you my friend, another year. Thanks for your friendship, and most of all your sacrifice.

Well Doug, another year. 18 years now you've been gone. Seems like just yesterday I got the call from mom. Dad's gone now. I picture you two together in Heaven playing a ping pong match that sounds like two grizzlies fighting and God yelling "Are those two at it again!!" Makes me smile when I remember those matches in the basement. You are truly a hero and truly missed everyday. Love and miss you! Van, Renee and the boys!

Hello Major Sloan and family. Whenever Van posts (or anyone for that matter) I get a notification. It's been 11 years since my initial comment. I've never forgotten y'all. My son did make it back from Afghanistan in one piece, but he has been damaged by PTSD. At least he's home, married, doing well. He served honorably. Sloan family...this old sailor will always remember and honor your brother, son, family. Rest in peace, Major. We have the watch.

Hey Doug, Happy belated 58th birthday! Miss you a ton. Dad is with you now. I picture the two of you playing ping pong and screaming and yelling at each other over every point just like before. I miss both of you terribly. Love you! Van

Hey Doug! Sure do miss you. 17 years since you've been gone. Think about you every day! Love you! Van

Another year, you are truly missed. Prayers to your loved one.

Hey Doug, You would have been 57 years old today. Miss you all the time! Wish you were still with us. Love you! Van

Another year has past and you are still missed. Happy Veterans Day to one of the best leaders the Army ever had. Ssg Benton Sims (retired)

Hey Doug,
16 years now. Still hard to believe. We all Love and miss you! Can't stop feeling we've all been cheated out of what could have been. My boys are all grown up and serving their country too. They still talk about their memories of you from when they were young. The pain is always here. It just comes and goes a bit more. Miss you!
