Loving and devoted father of Tim Smith and Kelly Smith-Howard. Loving grandfather of Nick and Brianna Howard. Cherished brother of Harman, James, Kenneth, Raymond Smith, Mary Manning, Ruth Decker, Clyde Smith, Shirley "Sha" (Jerry) Gibson, and Barbara (Jim) Pummill. Loving fiancée of Daryl Schaefer. He was a loving and much cherished uncle to all his many nieces and nephews and always enjoyed spending time with each of them.
Doug was loved, admired, and respected by all who knew him. He was a great friend to everyone. Doug was the Owner and President of Viking Steel Erection Company for 45 years.

Doug was such a nice neighbor, always ready to help. I remember when our lawnmower was broken he was so quick to volunteer his. We are so sorry for your loss and if there is anything we can do, just ask.
