Doug hired me in 1967. At the time, he was a highly respected store manager at Overwaitea Foods Ltd., situated in Terrace, B.C. He was loved by customers throughout the Pacific North West. Customers would drive for miles, from surrounding communities, just to shop & talk with Doug. From ages 16-19, Doug taught me about valuable work ethics and customer service, the simple concepts of which, I adopted within a variety of subsequent career paths across Canada. My sincere condolences to Doug's family, he was my District Manager in Prince Rupert as well as in Vancouver. I worked with him for many years and will fondly remember him as being kind and friendly. He will be missed.

Uncle Doug, I loved hockey because you love hockey. I loved business because you loved business! I wanted success because you taught me that succeeding in life is important.

As a young person! I followed you every where. I wanted to be like my Uncle Doug.

My grandfather (Bill Beetlestone) worked with Doug for many years at Overwaitea, I also knew Doug during the 20 years I worked at Save-On-Foods.
