I was shocked when I heard the news the other day of Doug's passing. I was a good friend of his when he lived in Kansas and will miss him terribly. My prayers go out to the Vaughn family.

Doug was an amazingly strong person, to such depths of strength I can't even fathom. I am grateful for the time I knew him and the good memories we had.
May you rest in peace Doug, thank you for teaching me to be strong in what may come.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn this brave man's life. May God grant us the peace Doug now knows in heaven.

Harold and Priscilla and the rest of the Vaughn family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough time. I have some good memories from those scouting days at Bethania Moravian church. The lock-ins, the camping trips at your farm. Doug is in all of them. I hadn't seen Doug in many, many years but its obvious that during that period he was a very successful and caring human being who fought his illness to the end. May you find comfort knowing he is now at peace with the Lord.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. We were so sorry to hear of Doug's illness and now his death. Please know that we are praying for the peace that passes all understanding to be very present in your lives at this time.

Dear Vaughn Family,
I was devastated to hear of Doug's passing. He was such a large part of my life during my teenage years. I have so many good memories of which he is a part. Although we have lost touch, I think of Doug often with fondness and have said many prayers for him and for your family over the past few years. He has always held a special place in my heart. I know that Doug is in a better place now and is no longer in pain. I will always remember him as the strong athlete...

Doug was a man of character and strength. I admired him since we were kids in scouts together and am sorry to hear of his passing. Doug was a fighter who always took challenges head on, when it is my time, I hope to have his will power and positive outlook. To Harold and Priscilla, my deepest sympathies and prayers go out to you. Memories of Doug will always live on within all of his fellow scouts and friends.

Vaughn Family,
I am truely sorry for your loss. Doug was a great teammate and friend during our time at Reynolds. I will never forget the memories and all the games and practices I shared with #51.

Harold and Priscilla,
Doug always held a very special place in our hearts -- we credit him with saving our son's life. When Doug was working at Old Town Baptist Children's Center, our son Tyler fell backwards out of a swing (that was very high off the ground at the time). Doug caught him so that Tyler never hit the ground! Doug always had our utmost gratitude for that event.

Our prayers are with you.
