I had Served with Doug in 1970's over in Korea on the DMZ, I was from Texas and he and I got to be great Friend's, He was a super great guy, Sad I never got to hook up and visit him Rest in peace Doug.

I am so sorry about Dougs death. I met him in1975/76 during my stay in the US as an exchange student from Germany. He was a great guy. Remember him being in my Typing class at ZHS.

Surprise to hear of Doug's passing. He was a good friend amd I have many fond memories of him.

Dear Cindy and Family, Doug was and always will be a legend because of his passion, knowledge and abilities that he possessed along with his desire to share that on and off the field. I will miss his smile and stories when shared after a bike ride on the lakeshore and then a pop overlooking Lake Michigan. Respectfully, Anthony (Tony) J. Noto

So very sorry to learn of Dougs passing. Worked games with Wabs last year and was to be partners in the HS post season. We were scheduled to be together and then Wabs gives the game back so he can go to the National Junior College World Series in Enid OK... "Sorry Hedges, I gotta go and enjoy the trip with Lansing CC". Boy did he have a blast, but boy did i Miss the chance to work another game with my friend. Just so shocked...

I remember Doug playing baseball at CMU with my brother. He was a great player. He always had a smile on his face and a love for the game. So saddened by his passing and the loss of his energy in this world. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Cindy.
