Recently, I was asked by the UMass Amherst Foundation to write about some of my memories while at UMass for my three degrees spanning 10 years. And, as mentioned before (2019), Doug was an important part of my story, as an undergraduate. Doug was a teammate at UMass where we both started at defensive end. As an incoming freshman, I met Doug at orientation where he stood over me and said "you are my competition". We became friends and we shared some memorable time at UMass - he will be sorely missed...a big kind hearted person!
