What a kind man and wonderful teacher! I learned so much from him and inspired me to be a teacher, myself! To his children- I was one of your babysitters when you were very young and your parents needed a "date night"! You were darling kiddos and your family was lovely. Hold on to the memories and I´m sorry for your loss.

Coach Wright. So many great memories. From surfing at Pleasure Point to breaking in our new school Leland with some darn good swimmers and polo players. Coach Wright was there during our formative years, ensuring we worked hard and our antics didn´t get too out of hand. I think most of his team worked hard just because we liked him. Sadly in looking back, over the years some teammates have been lost including Bill Tracy, Tom Ballard, and Steve Darrow. Maybe Coach Wright is in heaven...

My husband and I befriended Doug at Spare Time in EDH. He always made his way to say hello and chat about his family and inquire about ours. He was a warm and kind hearted man and his gym buddies miss him, terribly. He will also be missed at the Gilmore Center where he and his wife donated their time tirelessly. May he rest in peace and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Wright was a great teacher! I had him for both US History and The Cold War when I went to Leland. Both classes rivaled any courses I had in college and beyond. He was incredibly knowledgeable and funny! Thank you, Mr. Wright! Sending love to his family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Doug for almost twenty five years. In that time I got to know him for the funny, caring, loving, and appitizer-aficionado that he was. The only thing stronger than his margaritas was his love for his family and the 49ers. He had a 49er gear for every occasion. wierd 49er stuff like artic blankets, XXL sweaters and a watch that was always off by 20 minutes. He never missed a football game, or a chance to give a compliment and he was a Fantasy-Football force to be...

I swam and played water polo for Coach Wright for 3 years at Pioneer High School from 1965-1967. Thanks for all you did for me and for all your hard work. Miss you. Condolences to his wife and family. Great man.
