Rep. Yongue was the kindest person. He told me a story once about being a principal and going after kids who had dropped out, that is, going to their homes to get them to come back to school. He said 9 times out of 10, he could get them to come back, because they just needed to know someone cared about them.
I am grateful to have known Doug Yongue and send love and prayers to his family.

Mr. Yongue was my principal at Scotland in turbulent times in the early 70's and was the most kind man and very mild yet firm. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to family and friends.
