Not sure what to say?

Doug was a student at the Boulder Valley Institute, Boulder Colorado, for one of our three month programs. I was delighted to become his friend. He chose to participate in a class I taught, taking a small group of young adults into the desert outside Moab, Utah. The topic of the class was "Desert as metaphor". It was part of the BVI program of classes in mythology, ancient cultures, and the timeless process of initiation into adulthood. The desert experience included three days alone,...

Dear Aunt Frances,
I just came across this site and a sad to learn of Douglas's passing.I am his first cousin, Marylou Cox, ( now Mary Speed-Perri, daughter of Anna Zubryd Cox and John M. Cox. I remember Douglas when he lived with us briefly and I remember his father, Uncle Anthony.

Dear Mrs. Zubryd, I am so sorry to hear about Douglas. I was very fond of him at school and so glad to hear he grew up to be such a great guy.
I was in a lot of his classes and band/orchestra. Sincerely yours, Michelle V. McConkey

Dearest Fran and Laura, I just came across Doug's obituary when I was looking for Laura and it blew me away. I am so very sorry for your loss. Doug was such a sweet, kind, gentle person. I guess I expected him to live forever. He was always so nice and respectful of me and my feelings at all times. Words are so ineffectual but I am deeply, and sincerely sorry for your loss.

Fran, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember fondly the numerous times Doug came to the parish center library to borrow books. He always had a smile and a kind word to say. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family.

I am sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace and the family remember him as a sweet soul.

We will remember Doug for his erudition, for his deep and prayerful love of God, and for his devotion to his family. We will miss him. Our prayers are with you all.
