Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

Dr. Bryce Douglas Brandt, 36, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN from complications of chemotherapy treatment, which he courageously completed in his battle with testicular cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he peacefully left this life and entered the presence of his Savior in Heaven.

Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD on March 17. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with refreshments to follow.

Bryce was born on November 6, 1989, to Ronald and Lori Brandt in Sioux Falls, SD. He was raised in Sioux Falls and attended JFK Elementary, Memorial Middle School, and Roosevelt High School. Bryce continued his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.

Following graduation, Bryce returned home to Sioux Falls to share his God-given gifts of healing and compassion through chiropractic care. He began his practice alongside Dr. Haley Luond at Active Faith Chiropractic, where his patients quickly became like family. Bryce viewed his work not merely as a profession, but as a ministry. He was called by God to heal the minds, bodies, and spirits of others through his compassionate care and unwavering love for Jesus Christ.

From a young age and into adulthood, Bryce had a passion for sports and the outdoors. He loved to play them, watch them, and help athletes perform to their highest potential through the chiropractic care that he provided. Like his favorite animal, the sloth, Bryce also understood the importance of slowing down and appreciating life’s blessings, both big and small. Among his greatest blessings were his beloved nieces, Boston and Willow, whom he cherished beyond measure. He loved every opportunity to spoil them, and the joyful memories of their outings, celebrations, Fourth of July parades, and camper golf cart rides will forever warm the hearts of those who loved him.

Bryce’s life was a reflection of his faith. He valued his relationship with God and his family above all else. In recent years, Bryce grew deeply into his faith. Each morning, he awoke with profound gratitude for the life God had given him and for the chance to serve others through his calling. Throughout his life, and especially in the last months, Bryce leaned on the Lord for strength, fully trusting that life on this earth is temporary and that eternal life in Heaven awaits those who believe.

Bryce was deeply loved by all who knew him.  In his final days, those who knew him best described him as courageous, steadfast in faith, resilient, and compassionate. As his father, Ron, so beautifully said, those who loved Bryce loved him from “his head to his toes.”

Bryce is survived by his parents Ronald and Lori (Fligge) Brandt; his brother Brady (Ashley, Boston, and Willow) Brandt; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Douglas and Ruth Fligge and Beverly Brandt; his aunt Sherry, his cousin Tara, and grandfather Al Brandt.
