Dr. Freeman had a wonderful enthusiasm for life. He shared that zest with so many. He will always be remember as part of the essence that makes TSU an outstanding institution. Dr. Freeman incomparable, truly sui generis.

What a great man, a great leader, a great example, a great mentor, a great role model. For those of us who were blessed to spend time in his magnificent but unassuming presence, he changed you, he made you better and made you want to he even better than that. He was a catalyst for the empowerment of others through betterment, and to have had the dust from that ever brilliant star fall gently across my life I am forever grateful and blessed, and better. Thanks for everything Dr. Freeman.

Dr. Freeman was my instructor. He was serious and loved his students. I learn a lot from him and enjoyed his class. He believed in his students and ensured that his believed in themselves also. I told many of my friends about him. To the family I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you Dr. Freeman for all you did for TSU, Houston, and the world. I am the son of Howard Harris, who worked at Texas Southern for many of the years Dr. Freeman was there. I don't think I ever personally met Dr. Freeman, but he undoubtedly inspired, motivated, and brought the best out of many people. My prayers and condolences go out to the family. May his legacy live on.

Dr. Thomas Freeman was VERY INSPIRING and will be grately missed. I had the honor of being 1 of his many students while he was an instructor at Houston Community College on the campus of Stephen F Austin High School in 1989. Dr. Freeman was very ARTICULATE and intriguing. I recall the first day of class, he sat quietly and observed on others getting acquainted as I observed on him. Then he SPOKE! Immediately the entire class was drawn to and gave reverence to him. He was magnificent and had a...
