It was a joy to work with Dr. Fingar on the admissions system for the College of Dental Medicine. And also to know him and his family at First Baptist Church. God bless!

I first knew Walt Fingar as my dental anatomy teacher, I later knew him as a dental faculty colleague, and eventually I knew him as my "boss", but in each of those relationships, I knew him as "my friend". He always had a "positive outlook" no matter what the circumstances. He was a role model and mentor for all who knew him. He loved his vocation, but he loved his family and Lord, Jesus Christ, more. Dr Fingar was the dean at MUSC Dental School when I attended in the early 80´s...he was the absolute perfect example of the type of dentist and, more importantly, type of man I wanted to be. He and Miss Mildred reared an incredible family that continues to contribute positively to the world and also shows what can happen when you follow Christ....the world lost a great man, but all for Heaven´s gain!! Much love...

I'm sorry for the passing of Dr. Fingar because he was a good friend and adopted father to me in our relationship. Not only did he treat me as a son but he shared the same name as my real father. I will miss the conversations and times that we spent together. Rest in peace good buddy.
