Dr. Donald E. Rose

Dr. Donald E. Rose, age 92, of Crown Point, formerly of Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015.  He was born August 21, 1923 to the late Thad and Florence Rose of Canfield, Ohio.

Dr. Rose is survived by his wife: Joyce of 68 years; daughter, Phyllis (Terry) Galusha; grandson, Gregory (Karla) Galusha; four great-grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tim Galusha of Crown Point and brother, Robert (Ruth) Rose of Canfield, Ohio

Dr. Rose graduated from Ohio State University at Columbus, Ohio in 1945 with a D.V.M. degree.   he practiced veterinary medicine for 45 years in East Palestine, Ohio.  He owned an Equine Hospital and a Small Animal Hospital.  Dr. Rose was an honorary member of A.V.M.A. and the Mahoning County Veterinary Assoc. He was a 60 year member of Kiwanis, served on the Board of Directors of Union Commercial Bank for 27 years prior to moving to Crown Point in 2000, and a member of the Masons.  In Crown Point, he drove for "Meals on Wheels" for 6 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crown Point.

 Friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 23, 2015 directly at the first Presbyterian Church, 218 S. Court St., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Dr. David Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery.
