Erling Osborne Harry, MD, late of Olympia Fields. Died November 14, 2015 after a long battle with Thoracic Abdominal aneurysm and a blood disorder. He lived a full constructive and productive life between hospitalizations the last 5 1/2 years. He was born in the Caribbean Island in St. Vincent, West Indies. The third of eight children of the late Ruby and the late Christopher Harry, growing up and graduated from the high school in Kingstown, St. Vincent, West Indies. He went on to receive a medical degree from the University of the West Indies, then a branch of London University, receiving Henderson Prize of Medicine. Dr. Harry completed his internship at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, including invasive Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Dr. Harry is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. His main interest was in Clinical Cardiology and Interventional Treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease. He was a member of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom, American Medical Association, Illinois State Medical Society, American College of Physicians, and American College of Cardiology. He was a partner with the Heart Care Centers of Illinois from February 1974 until May of 2010. His main hospital affiliation was with the former St. Francis Hospital, now Metro South Medical Center in Blue Island. Dr. Dominic Allocco, a dear friend and partner of said, "Dr. Harry was recommended by internationally known Cardiologist Robert Frye of Mayo Clinic to help staff a burgeoning clinic. Dr. Harry was thoroughly knowledgeable and practiced with poise, class and a British accent. He was devoted to his patients and he was loved by them in return." Dr. Harry is survived by his wife, Zenaida P. Harry nee Pampolino, three children, Tanya Harry, Shana Harry Wang and Jeffrey Harry and two grandchildren, Sage and Zen Wang. He is also survived by his siblings, Danae Bailey, Faustina Shortte, Saville Harry, Coldric Harry, Calvin Harry, Marjorie Browne, Monty Harry and extended family. Resting at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Monday, November 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation Tuesday, November 24th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Olympia Fields United Methodist Church, 20301 Western Ave., Olympia Fields, IL. To the family of Dr. Harry.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your husband and father touched so many lives. I was a nurse at St. Francis and learned so much from him. He was always willing to teach the staff. He was a patient, kind and caring person. I remember when he use to drive his Volkswagen bug to work back in the days. He has touch so may lives with his kindness. He will be missed by many, including myself, very much. God bless you

a great talent is now silence.

My deepest sympathies to the Harry family.Dr.Harry was an excellent teacher and physician.I learned so much from him as a new nurse at St Francis.He had a wealth of knowledge but never spoke down to anyone,only made us rise up to a higher level.It was obvious he lived his life through his faith.May he rest in peace. He will be very missed by all who knew him.

RIP, Dr. Harry. It was a privilege knowing you and having you as our doctor for so many members of our family. You did a fine job keeping us healthy and out of the hospital. We thank you for your years of service and all that you did for your patients throughout these years. You treated all of us like we were your family. Thank you so much. Our community lost a great Healer 5.5 years ago. The world lost a great man last week.
