Bates-Rolf Funeral Home- New Boston Obituary

Dr. James L. 'Jim' Looney, age 80 of New Boston, Texas passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his residence. Dr. Looney was born April 9, 1931 in New Boston, Texas. He was a member of Tapp United Methodist Church, a United States Air Force Veteran serving in Korea, a Dentist in New Boston for 46 years, and is preceded in death by his wife Doris Looney.


Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Jeff and Heather Looney of New Boston, Texas, two daughters, Dana Brock of New Boston, Texas, Donna Smith of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, one sister Bonnie Atkins, five grandchildren, Bart Brock, Ally Brock of New Boston, Texas, Peyton Smith, Caleb Smith, Carah Jane Smith of Ft. Smith Arkansas and a number of other relatives and friends.



Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Tapp United Methodist Church with Bro. Rick Ivey officiating. Interment will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Nash, Texas under the direction of Bates-Rolf, New Boston. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tapp United Methodist Building Fund.
