Not sure what to say?

I always remember Dr. Littlefied each time I present educational content. He was a great mentor! He championed adult learning theory approaches to teaching like no one else. We were all standing on the shoulders of a giant!

I loved the 3 way phone calls between John, Frank Stritter and me! We would get the business done but my stomach would hurt from laughing ... John had a dry but hilarious sense of humor! Miss him so much!

Miss you

The first and only time I met John i was just 11 or 12 at a frank Koop reunion on lake mcqueeny. I was friendly and smiling with a nice family. I wish I knew my cousin more but I was born to old parents so no one knows me cause I was so young when I met them. I´m was his second cousin. God bless your family John and be at peace

I was a colleague of John’s at the UTHSCSA in the late 70’s and we remained good friends up to the present following my tenure there. John was such a compassionate and giving person with a great fun loving spirit. I vividly recall John and I building a replica of the Skylab satellite that was scheduled to crash to earth on July 11, 1979. Constructed of wood and LOTS of tinfoil as well as road flares attached to the back. It fit over both of us quite well with small peep windows for our...

John and I first met in November 1977 when I interviewed for a position at UTHSCSA. John and I subsequently worked together in the same department at the HSC for 28 years until 2005, and continued to interact on grants, courses and consulting until 2020 -- 43 years. So many shared experiences and memories. John was a role model and leader for the core group of staff that remained with that department, nicknamed "ERD", for many of those years. His profound kindness, patience, insight, humor...

John was a colleague and friend. I had the great privilege to learn from him and collaborate with him in educational research. He shared his knowledge, time, expertise and faith unselfishly. He listened and gave thoughtful, practical advice. He will be missed and remembered. May his family find peace and joy in remembering.

I met John through the faculty development courses he led to help faculty improve their teaching skills. He was always supportive, encouraging, and positive. He helped me improve my skills as an academic physician, and inspired me to continue as an clinician educator. He leaves a legacy of physicians like me who he taught to excel as educators and mentors.

I first met John as a very junior faculty member enrolled in a course he led to help me become a better educator. He was funny, patient, and always informative. Over the years Denise and I had the pleasure of interacting periodically with John and Brenda at UT Health alumni functions. John was a gentle and kind soul, full of grace and so clearly full of love for the Lord and for his family. We are sorry to hear of his passing and offer our condolences to Brenda and family.
