Not sure what to say?

I met him with my Dad and he was so sweet to my Dad who was 90 and needed help with teeth. I would certainly be on my way to see him now. God bless him and my he rest in peace. A wonderful DDS

Sending prayers and condolences to his family and friends. I am in total shock, in January 2012 Dr. Laughlin replaced my lower jaw due to cancer, he saved my life. I had an appt at NMCSD Balboa on October 2, 2025 and I was informed by staff. He was a very caring and passionate MD, he assured me that everything would go well. I know he is missed in the Dental community. RIP I always think of you especially around the holidays starting in November, that's when my life changed.

Miss you my beloved Rob

Dr. Laughlin I just did my surgery two days before his death I give my condolences and prayers to the family I know how much losing a loved one can hurt so much I had only learned about his death the week after he had passed I needed to go back to the doctor because I was having some problems but I was in a mess when I found Dr.Laughlin out had passed. He was a very good on gentle doctor one that give me a lot of encouragement because ,I was so afraid to have oral surgery he will be dearly...

Several years ago, I was airlifted, unconscious and on a vent, to Dr. Laughlin in New Orleans. This was a result of a local periodontist severing my lingual artery resulting in respiratory distress/arrest, along with massive hemorrhaging. I knew Rob when I was a nurse at Charity-always a nice, happy pleasant gentleman. Post surgical, when I awoke in ICU appropriately a week later, he informed me that few, if any, survived this severe of an injury. I saw him weekly throughout the year, and...

Dr. Laughlin was such an interesting man that always made us laugh and guaranteed a delightful conversation. He made the dynamic so much fun when he joined our OMS department. My son liked him so much, probably because he would give him a few dollars to buy a snack after his walk to the hospital from school. He is missed, I wish strength and peace to his loved ones.

I had the opportunity to share an office and become friends with Rob when he arrived at NMCSD following his fellowship training. As others have said, he was enthusiastic about his profession and training future surgeons. He also enjoyed having fun while working. I am sad to hear of his passing, especially since we had lost touch when he moved to Louisiana. My thoughts go out to his family for their loss.

I have fond memories of working with Rob at NMCSD. He was an enthusiastic colleague, smart, kind, and full of humor. We managed some enjoyable fishing trips. I regret we didn't do more of that and regret we had lost contact the past 5 years. My condolences to his family and his loved ones.

Have great memories of working as colleagues at NMC San Diego with Rob and, on occasion, getting together for fishing in and around San Diego. Smart man, always quick to laugh, intense focus, and a big heart. Sad to hear of his passing and to have lost touch with him the past few years. My thoughts go out to his family for their loss.
