Not sure what to say?

Coach,
I often think about you.

You were amazing, always helping people including me.

I thank God for giving me the chance to meet and spend time with you in the early 70s.

You were the best and truly a class act!

Tom tyler
Kansas City Royals 1st academy class.

Only recently did I learn of Steve's passing. I got to know him well during his year as President of the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton as I was Lieutenant Governor for the Division of the Florida District of Kiwanis International. Steve was particularly helpful during the visit of Florida District Governor Larry Kravet to our Division. For that I shall always be most appreciative. I have always admired his baseball career with the Washington Senators and I still have Steve's baseball cards...

Amazing coach and tremendous guy.Amazing person who helped me on 2 very special occasions.Often in my thoughts and prayers.I will never forget you coach Korcheck! Thanks Tom Tyler ( Kansas City royals academy )

I was a student of the Coach at the George Washington University and may have been the only fan of its baseball team. Coach was a warm genuine good guy. I mentioned him last night and googled him just now. Sad to learn of his passing, but I am glad that I met him. Sincere condolences.

I met Dr. Korcheck as a young reporter covering Manatee County for Channel 40 in Sarasota more than 30 years ago. He was the personification of gracious and welcoming. Interviewing him was a pleasure. I then taught at MCC from 1989 until the mid 90s. The respect I manifest for community colleges emanates from my experiences at MCC, where he no doubt inspired students, faculty and staff with passion and vision.

I met Dr. Korcheck when I first arrived at Manatee Community College during the 1994-95 freshmen year. He had a tremendous influence on all the students who were on campus. I enjoyed that time era with his administration and staff. Dr. K gave me the opportunity to propel on to The Florida State University (B.S 2000) and Nova Southeastern University (M.S 2003). My time at M.C.C was very challenging but with the help and support of a strong staff I was able to survive the first wave of obstacle...

Dr. Korcheck excelled as the president of Manatee Community College; he spent countless days in Tallahassee explaining to lawmakers the purpose and value of the Community College system, particularly MCC. He was respected and admired by his employees and friends (I was both) and doubtless, everyone who ever met him. His positive attitude and "can do" spirit inspired many people. Despite his great intellect and many accomplishments he never conveyed an air of superiority; to the contrary,...

I will never forget Dr. Korcheck. Always one to consider giving you a chance! He gave me one, I will never forget! He helped pave my success! A great man, a great mentor..... Forever grateful, always remembered. So sorry for your loss.

From meeting Steve as "Dr. Korcheck," father of my best friend Mike, to developing my friendship with him later, I was impressed by his genial nature and kindness. Steve brought me into Kiwanis 30 years ago, and hired me as an adjunct at (then) MJC. My lunches with Steve were always warm and funny. Steve's legacy lives on in two of the best people I've known, Mike and Stephanie.
