It was a joy to work with Dr. Fingar on the admissions system for the College of Dental Medicine. And also to know him and his family at First Baptist Church. God bless!

I first knew Walt Fingar as my dental anatomy teacher, I later knew him as a dental faculty colleague, and eventually I knew him as my "boss", but in each of those relationships, I knew him as "my friend". He always had a "positive outlook" no matter what the circumstances. He was a role model and mentor for all who knew him. He loved his vocation, but he loved his family and Lord, Jesus Christ, more. Longfellow in his "Psalm of Life" said, "Lives of great men all remind us, We can make...

I am so sorry for your loss. There is rejoicing in heaven though.

Dr Fingar was the dean at MUSC Dental School when I attended in the early 80´s...he was the absolute perfect example of the type of dentist and, more importantly, type of man I wanted to be. I couldn´t think of a more perfect example of how a humble Christian man would be. He and Miss Mildred reared an incredible family that continues to contribute positively to the world and also shows what can happen when you follow Christ....the world lost a great man, but all for Heaven´s gain!! Much love...

We send our love and prayers to your whole family - to his great legacy of children, grands and great grands. We celebrate with you his homegoing into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless you all with peace and wonderful memories of this servant of God - Love Lew and Karen Robertson

I'm sorry for the passing of Dr. Fingar because he was a good friend and adopted father to me in our relationship. Not only did he treat me as a son but he shared the same name as my real father. I will miss the conversations and times that we spent together. Rest in peace good buddy.

Prayers lifted for the Fingar family.

Libbye and family, we are extremely sorry for your loss. We never got to meet him but heard of what a great man he was. Our condolences to all of you. May he rest in peace.
