Not sure what to say?

VAUGHN, DAWN, and ALL McCALL FAMILY MEMBERS, Bobby and I were so sorry to learn of Drane's passing. I only met her once, but she won my heart right away with some forthright opinions of an author, with which I agreed. We shared a laugh, and a meeting of the minds. I have always heard wonderful things about her, and I know you will miss her. Love to you all.

I am out of town and will miss the memorial service. Piedmont Opera's Magnolia Ball will never be the same with Drane not here to do the table arrangements and so many other details that make the event special. What a gift to the world she was. What an honor to have watched a life so well lived.

BILL, EDGAR N VAUGHN-- WHEN MY PHONE RANG TELLING ME OF DRANE'S DEATH, I WAS IMMEDIATELY WIPPING A TEAR AWAY. I WAS ALSO FLOODED OF MEMORIES OF TIMES PAST WHICH WERE SO MUCH FUN. WHEN DAN WORKED AT MONTALDOS IN THE SHOW DEPT, HE N DRANE WOULD PLOT FOREVER TIL DRANE COULD GET WHAT SHE WANTED N NOT HAVE IT ALL BILLED AT ONCE! OH MY, HOW SHE DID LOVE HER SHOES. AS TIME MOVED ON, BOTH DRANE N BILL WERE IN OUR LIVES FOR VARIOUS N SUNDRY REASONS---ALL MOST PLEASANT. I KNOW THE NEXT MONTHS SHALL...

Dr. McCall, Vaughn and Dawn,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time as I was saddened to hear of Drane's passing. She was such a very special lady who gave so much of her time and energy to her friends and community.
May God bless all of you.

I worked with Drane when I was Administrator of Piedmont Opera Theatre in the '90s. I remember her, and Bill, as very gracious people and easy to work with. I was sorry to hear she has left us.

I met Dr. and Mrs. McCall through our mutual friends, Jim and Louise Broyhill. Dr. McCall and I were on the program together for Senator Broyhill's birthday. I had the pleasure of seeing Mrs. McCall at several cultural and historical events in Winston-Salem. Her list of community activities in the obituary was quite impressive although I understand that there were many other activities and accomplishments to her credit. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire McCall family on the...

Dr McCall,Vaughn, and Edgar, memories of the Vaughn family years ago are easily recalled as they were so special.I had not known of her illness. I have learned there are blessings in all things although these are not easily seen. She contributed so much to many causes and working with you at Summit was evidence of her dedication to each of us. She has been a blessing. Love and thoughts to your families.

DR. MCCALL AND FAMILY,
I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF DRANE. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON, I ALWAYS ENJOYED SEEING YOU BOTH. YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
