Not sure what to say?

I am so shocked at the loss of Mr. Davey. He was my 6th grade math teacher and I loved the fun way he taught math such as the "Dolly Parton fraction" and the way he would get the classes attention by smacking the yard sticks over desks. He was truly a great teacher and I will miss him. My family would also like to express the heartfelt condolences to Mr. Davey's family, our thoughts are prayers are with them. Trent Smith and Family

I just heard today of Mr. Davey's passing. (Funny how I still refer to him as "Mr. Davey", as if he were still my teacher!) A friend of mine who I have known since second grade, and who was in Mr. Davey's 6th grade class with me about eight years ago, heard the news from a neighbor and friend who works at Northridge Elementary. I was the first person she called, and during this phone call, after the initial shock, we began to recall humorous stories from Mr. Davey's class. It's amazing how...

To the Davey Family,
I had the privelege of working with Drew for several years at Northridge. My son, Robbie Houton, had him as a teacher in 1997/98. I was impressed by the rapport Mr. Davey had with all his students. I got to see these relationships over the years and the magic was there every year with his students. My favorite yearly ritual of Mr. Davey's was his study of "The Hobbit". I am so glad that so many kids were introduced to that book by Drew. He was a wonderful teacher...

Mr. Davey was by far the best teacher I had ever had. I was so shocked when I heard the news of his passing. I wish that I could have told him how much he shapped my life befor he passed, but I had no idea he was sick, or even close to death. Class was always a joy for me, I think he's the one who first lit my love for school. We'd play games like football, and when I'd come to understand the rules it would make me feel so special becuase I'd understand how real football worked. He's games...

To the family of Mr. Davey,

We are so shocked at the loss of Mr. Davey. Our daughter was in his math class 2 years ago and my son is currently a 6th grader at Northridge. I am so sorry that my son will not have the opportunity to experience Mr. Davey and his math class. When I saw him at back-to-school night I told him how glad the rumors of his retirement weren't true. I told him I hoped he return for at least one more year so that Ben could learn to enjoy and excel at math...

In addition to being a teacher, Drew Davey also drove airport shuttle vans part-time on weekends and during the summer, etc. I know I speak for a lot of people who knew him from this aspect of his life when I state how shocked and saddened we were to hear of his passing. He was always very quiet and dignified, and I'm sure the people who rode in his van were treated with respect and courtesy. My most sincere sympathies to his Dad and family from me - and all the shuttle people.

My brother and I both had Mr. Davey as a 6th grade teacher. The fact that he can never teach again was a very hard blow to both of us. Mr. Davey was the kind of teacher who influenced both our lives and gave us full support while becoming young adults. I wish that more kids would have been able to experience his class before he passed away. I personally thought of him as wonderful support and adult rolemodel. He will be extremely missed and I wish more than anything that I could have shown...

Everyone who knew Drew knew what a gifted and incredible person he was. I am very saddend at this sudden passing. I was a 6th grade teacher with Drew from 1986-1994. He was a great teacher, teammate and friend. The kids loved him but the staff loved him as well. He was and always will be a special person in our hearts. He will be missed by one and all.
Drew had a rapport with kids that was very special. They knew he cared and they knew they were safe with him. He had the abilility to...

Drew was a man of few words, but when he spoke he always had something very profound to say. We had some wonderful conversations. He was a very knowledgeable teacher and friend. I learned a lot about teaching and reaching children from him. I will truly miss him. His presence will always be felt. It is with great affection that I say "Good-bye Drew".
