Not sure what to say?

I'd like to add that every time our paths would cross out in the community, He always greeted me with a BIG smile and would call me by my name. After all those years he showed much dignity by that simple act. I will never forget and will always Love this Man, as he impressed me at a very young age, for Life. May he Continue to Rest In Peace!

Mr Abel's was a wonderful man and a great principal. He was kind to all the students and supported his teachers. He had a great sense of humor and wonderful smile. It was a pleasure to work with him. My best to the family. Merrilee Rankin

Condolences to Scott Janet Diane Gary, extended families and best of friends. Mr Abels is leaving a lasting legacy, a darn good one! Much love to a brave soul, tender heart, mighty spirit.

Duane Abels was such a fine human being, friend and principal. He came to work at Peter S Ogden Elementary School with a smile and a kind word each day. He loved his job and it showed. He was also a master carpenter...those handrails he built for our house will last forever! Thanks for all that you did for the students, families and staff...RIP Duane.

Words do not do justice to the impact Mr Ables had on so many of our lives. Like Major commented above, I always counted myself lucky when we first moved to Vancouver and he was my principal at Lieser. He so nicely escorted me through the school and introduced me to Mrs. Adams 2nd grade class. I met Scott and he became one of my closest friends, The Abel's home was always open to me and to the cadre of Scott's other friends. The memories of those years will burn eternal for me as a great...

Mr. Abels was my Principal when I went to Lieser Elementary School. I fancied myself as a budding artist back then. Mr. Abels gave and brought a drafting table to our house so I could have my own place for drawing and painting. Very nice Man and an inclusive thinking compassionate Man. He will always be thought of Fondly and with Love.

Mr. Abels,
You will always be remembered for your great smile and laugh. And you wore that casual, cool Arnold Palmer look so very well. Peace in your final play through to the great course.
Stan Bentley
