Not sure what to say?

Very late learning about Duane. He was my "boss" at SAR and I have so much appreciation and respect for him. A special person in so many ways. Belated but sincere sympathy to his family.

I am just now hearing about my boss and friend Duane and am very sad to hear of his passing. He was my mentor and friend and have nothing but gratitude towards him.

Dear Carol and Family, I just learned of Duane´s passing. I know what a difficult time this must be for family and friends. I send my sincerest condolences. Duane was a warm and generous colleague, sharing his knowledge and professional guidance with all who knew him. I will never forget his kindness when I joined SAR staff as its IARC director. I am sorry for your loss.

Knew Duane back in the 1970s in Iowa. He would not have remembered me. Met him through Dr David Gradwohl at Iowa State University. Archaeolgical Field School 1975 and years of archaeological survey and salvage in the Des Moines River Valley. He had an impressive carrer. Peace! Don Hirt, Santa Fe

Duane and Carol (2nd @ 3rd from the r.) were the ultimate travel guides in Oaxaca in 2001. Thank you Carol for being Duanes co-leader. Duane was more than the knowledgeable archeologist. He was also a TV producer and that book in his hand contains "all the knowledge known to man"- The best place to eat. A shop to buy for less money. Or the best quality in town. Here is where to mail it. This is what it will cost you. "I have to go p_ _ _ quick" Follow me. Duane was always right Road Sign...
