Not sure what to say?

Hi Joanne - Just wanted to let you know that Duane is still remembered with our aging memories... I now know how hard it is too loose a spouse... My wife Carol of 56+ years passed unexpectedly last year in 2023. Take care and hope all your family is surviving these challenges times. Respectfully - Pete

Berentson family-I was just thinking about the fantastic times I spent working with Duane at WSDOT in the 80's so looked to see what was happening with Duane and his family. I was very saddened to find that he had passed just a few weeks ago. My & Robin's prayers go out to your family.

Joanne and Family,
I am sorry I could not be present on Saturday but I want to let you know that Duane was a very special person in my life; I will always remember him. To a young boy growing up in Burlington Coach D.B. was a source of never ending encouragement and a role model to look up to. To play basketball for him was an honor and a privilege and winning was just the icing on the cake. Over the years he always showed an interest in what I was doing - he truly cared about people. May...

Dear Joanne and Family, Duane was an outstanding Legislator and DOT Secretary. I still wish that he would have won the 1980 governor primary election. It was a privilege to serve with him. Sincerely, Earl Tilly, Wenatchee

I was deeply sadden to read about Duane's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing and being a student of Duane's at BEHS from 1956-1960, as well as one of the team members on his 1959 Basketball Team. He was an understanding person, as well as a great coach and leader at BEHS. I look back and am amazed at all this great man accomplished during his lifetime, along with his lovely wife Joanne and their family! I also remember what a super job he did as a past Sec. of Transportation, for the...

I am deeply saddened to hear of Duane's passing. I had the pleasure and the privilege of working in his office when he served as the state's Secretary of Transportation. He was a wonderful man, a great leader, and he will be sadly missed. My deepest condolences to Joanne, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I grew up with Duane and Joanne attending Anacortes High School together. My heart felt prayers are with the family. They were a special couple, loved by all our classmates.
Sincerely, Maxine Carr Becker
