Not sure what to say?

I did not know Duane had died. We were beginning air force pilots together at Bartow Air Base in Winterhaven, Florida. He and Kay lived next door to my wife and I and had a great 6 months there. We kept up off and on over the years. Most of my civilian years were in Dallas and they were there with the church for a few years. I would be available to any of the family if they want to talk about their folks. If Kay is still alive I would love to communicate with her. I was born in 1938 like...

He was a special friend. we talked often. I will miss that great pleasure.

Never a dull moment with Elder Gerrard!

This was a wonderful man with whom my husband, Bryan, and I worked in the Philippines. Maybe they are both enjoying talking together about aeroplanes again.

I have been a gold broker for over 20 years, and I can honestly say that in all of my years and my thousands of contacts and clients, I have NEVER met a nicer and more genuine person. Dewey is at the top of the list. He was always a pleasure to talk wth, even toward the end, when his Spirit was strong and his sense hof humor about his condition shone through. It may sound odd to say, but while i didn't k now him that well, I felt a real kinship for him and I felt that he was my friend. ...

I am very sad to hear this news. Dewey was an iconic Delta Captain and an incredible human being. I held Dewey in the highest esteem, and it was an honor to fly with him and work under his leadership at Delta Air Lines. Dewey had a wonderful sense of humor, and in his company he had such a huge presence. He was bigger than life, and a gentle giant. Dewey always comported himself with dignity, humility and wisdom. He will be terribly missed, and I offer my deepest condolences to his family. I...

what a giant of a man......

hen my wife and I were newlyweds (July, 1973), we lived in her parents' basement which her dad had finished into an apartment for us. We lived there for a year and 3 or 4 months, and had our first child (a son) while living there. We were members of the Kaysville 12th ward and Duane Gerrard was our bishop. I think Bishop Gerrard was one of the finest, if not THE finest, man I've ever known. Years later, he and Kay would recognize us and ask about our family. He was even a Facebook Friend of...

What a great honor it was to serve in the Dallas Temple with President and Sister Gerrard. He always had great stories to tell about his life experiences. All the very best Sister Gerrard.

Dear Kay, We are sorry for you and your family's loss. I was there the day Dewey was 'hatched', we were raised together on 1250 West, and I was there the day the two of you were married. Your mother was a very dear person. Love, Norm and Pat Tarbox
