Duane C. Krauss, 90, of Bangor, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 27th, at Slate Belt Health and Rehab. Center, Bangor, PA.
Duane was born in East Bangor, PA on June 24, 1931, a son of the late Henry and Edith Mae (Miller) Krauss.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Arnold) Krauss. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last June. Duane was a 1949 graduate of Bangor High School. He was employed as a laborer for Smith Wilbert Vault Co. in Bangor, PA until retiring in 1993. Duane enjoyed working on projects, especially outdoors, and watching high school football. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of Benders Mennonite Church in Pen Argyl, PA.
In addition to his loving wife Dorothy, Duane is survived by two sons Scott Krauss, husband of Amy Krauss, of Moscow, ID; and Todd Krauss, of Bangor, PA; a brother, David Krauss, husband of Gay, of Bethlehem, PA, three sister-in-laws Carol Koehler, wife of Ralph, of Whitehall, PA, Anita Fisher, of Pottsville, PA, and Shirley Krauss, of Bangor, PA, 2 grandchildren Katie Krauss, of Tupelo, MS and Karsen Krauss, of Anna, TX, and one great-granddaughter Ellarose Krauss. He was predeceased by two brothers Larry and John Krauss.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 3rd at Benders Mennonite Church, 975 Bender's Church Road, Pen Argyl, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, May 3rd at the church. Burial will be held at Benders Mennonite Church Cemetery, Pen Argyl, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Benders Mennonite Church, 975 Bender's Church Road, Pen Argyl, PA 18072 or to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.

To my friend , "Duane" You were the BEST neighbor a person can have! If more people were like you there would be less fences in peoples yards! I will always remember our chit chats while doing daily tasks such as mowing, working on OUR driveway, cleaning snow..... always with a smile... you were always part of a solution , never part of a problem. You were a kind and gentle soul and will forever hold a place in my thoughts

Dottie, Scott, and Todd: So sorry to hear this. I appreciated so much the time and care Duane gave to the cemetery. I ran into him there a while ago, and it was so good to see him being so active and thoughtful.
