Dudley Weeks

I have his wonderful record album "The World As People". I have no doubt that Mr. Weeks was every bit as wonderful as everything I've read about him states.

I am only discovering now the passing of Dudley Weeks. I met Dudley in 1993 in Schlaining, Austria, where he was a conflict resolution trainer for the UN civilian peacekeeping program. I cannot overestimante the influence those training sessions had for me. Many years later, I work in education and teach conflict resolution myself. So many of us will carry on with this important work who have been inspired by him! MAy his memory be a blessing.

I met Dudley about 1967 when he visited us in Fayetteville Arkansas where my father was a Disciples of Christ minister. Dad brought Dudley home. I'm not sure how they met, but Dudley visited us several times. I remember being impressed with his social justice stance. And he was just a really nice guy.

I took Dudley´s course, the Peace and Conflict Resolution Semester, at AU in the spring semester of 1995. I knew that he had been to the Balkans trying to bring about an end to the fighting and hopefully lasting peace to the conflicts there, but I did not know about all the things you wrote here now. Dear Uncle Dudley had a profound effect on my life. We miss him terribly. He was so kind and caring and had a wonderful life.
