Before there was Thalia, there was a group of young men and women who loved the world. Duke was a part of that. He thrived in it. I wish Duke a lovely afterlife. See you next time, my friend.

I was never fortunate enough to meet him in person. His book found me at a Crossroads in my life and has helped me immensely and continues to. I did get to have quite a few chats with him online and he was always encouraging and very helpful. An amazing person that will continue to help others as he moves on to his next journey.

I met Duke via MKP. I can't say that I knew him very well beyond the MKP interactions we shared, but we did keep in touch over the years via facebook updates and a few chats. For me a special moment was when he turned to me for counsel. He was someone I saw as wise and knowing, yet he trusted me and my insights to help him.

We met at Butler University, and his infectious joy and acceptance was immediately apparent. I am glad we were able to reconnect through Facebook over the last several years. Miles and years separated us, but memories are forever.

I've known Duke since 1986, and one of the fondest memories I have is teasing him about Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery. I started calling it Electric Saladbowl, and it drove him nuts for years. Here he is in 1987 with Vorpal Bunny and a very full head of very dark hair. Proof that I've known him that long. I've been working on a Playlist of songs that remind me of him, because he loved music so much, but I'm open to suggestions.
