Waters Funeral Home - Concord Obituary

Duncan E. Averill, age 62, of Washinton Street, passed away on January 22, 2026 at his home.


He was born in Manchester, NH the son of the late, Malcolm E. and Ann M. (Tolland) Averill.  He was a graduate of Concord High School.


Duncan worked in construction for most of his life.  


He was very proud of his French, Irish and Native American heritage. He loved his Country and his family.  He was an avid sports fan, and loved the Chicago Black Hawks, The Raiders, and the Redsox.  Duncan enjoyed music, he especially loved the band Rush.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Peter Averill, and a brother-in-law Bert Morgan.


He is survived by his sister, Cindy Morgan of Concord, and 2 brothers, David Averill and his partner Carol Dyer of Concord, and Douglas Averill and his wife Brenda of Pembroke; one son Dustin Averill of Concord; and numerous nieces and nephews.


A memorial visiting hour will be held on Friday, February 6th from 4 to 6 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.


A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 12th at 10:00 am at St. John’s Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord, NH.


Private Burial will be in the Blossom Hill Cemetery at the discretion of the family.

We only got to know Duncan a little over a year ago and our heart are heavy just finding this out, but our oldest son was childhood friends with his son Dustin Duncan walked to the beat of his own drum had strong beliefs and wasn´t afraid to share them. He was a unique guy with a big heart. Dave and Dougie, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I loved seeing Dunc around town and he always had a handshake, a smile, and something funny to say. He was definitely one of the "good eggs".
