My dearest Durre, In the few years we shared together as colleagues at Jones, Day, you made a lasting, positive impression on me. I wish we had been closer. I wish you peace and I wish your family good health and that their lives be filled with an over abundance of love. xoxo

The epitome of elegance and grace... we know each other through both having 8th and 11th-graders... a lovely family, we are so sorry for your loss!

My first friend when I landed in New York City. And the second day you brought me soup because I had fallen ill. I asked you where you got it from, and you replied, don´t worry I´ll get it for you every day until you´re well again. This was my Durre. And the one person whom I could trust with my life. I´m so sorry for your loss at such a young age. I just exchanged emails with Durre before Thanksgiving. Durre was part of our corporate team at Jones Day in the early 2000s. She was the star associate of the group. She was so bright, creative and intelligent. She was our go to lawyer for the most critical, complex deals. She was also so sweet and nice, especially to my kids when they were young. She made quite an impression on us. I thought of her a lot. Again, I´m so sorry for your...

Very saddened. I never met you but always had an admiration for your academic achievement. The only connection I have with you is that your dad gave away your study desks to my dad in 1997 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I used your desk until graduating high school. Rest assured I am praying for you and your family.

I never met Durre in person, she and I were enrolled in a writing workshop offered online by the 92Y. I was immediately struck not just by her writing skills which were formidable, but mostly by the stunning elegance and grace she exuded even thru the Zoom screen. I want to express my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
