Not sure what to say?

I am Judy Sprik, cousin of Dewey Bakker, the youngest child of his uncle Andrew Baker. Although I don't remember him much while growing up because of the age difference, my husband Ron & I had the privilege of having him as a pediatrician during our home service times from the mission field in Puerto Rico. We are grateful for his kind and helpful services. We extend our sympathies to you his family in your loss. May God be your comfort and strength.

Our hearts were very saddened when we learned of Dr. Bakker' passing. The world lost a very smart, gentle, kind, calm and loving father and pediatrician. He cared for both of our sons all of their younger years. I can't even imagine how many trips we made to his Fulton Street office. He always was able to smile and ease a worried mother's mind saying, " I think he's going to be just fine." Please know that he made a difference in so many people's lives, both children and parents. He...

Our son (now 38) was under the care of Dr. Bakker and Buz. We moved from Louisiana to Michigan and had our first child. That was 38 years ago. We had no clue what to do with this little newborn but Dr. Bakker gave us calm and comfort. My best memories are watching him come in the room with a smile and gentle voice. Looking back, I think he was taking care of me as well. The years moved along and we continued to stay in touch. We always looked forward to his holiday and birthday cards he...

To the family of Dr Bakker,
So sorry to read of the passing of your father. He was our four children's pediatrician. He was a wonderful doctor and very caring man who also cared about the health of mothers. I once showed up with one of the sick children when he noticed a sty in my eye & immediately looked at it & ordered me something. He also showed up at the hospital to ck out my fourth child at my request before I was scheduled for a tubal ligation. Amazing man and human being. You...

Dr Bakker was our pediatrician for my five boys. He was the kindest person and always very personable. Not only did he treat the boys but always cared about the mothers as well. When we lost our son in Iraq he even remembered him and reached out to us. What a wonderful individual. Our family loved him deeply.

Dr, Bakker was our children's doctor. We were blessed to now him well as 2 of our kids were special needs children. He helped guide us though many crisis, Most recent he and I shared some breakfast at Peppermill. Love this man, he will be greatly missed. Gary and Dar Oom

It is difficult to think of words that adaqutedly describe Dr.Bakker.
He was our kind and compassionate pediatrician for my two children. It was a blessing having him play such an important part in their lives. God bless him...

We loved Dr. Bakker as our pediatrician and he diagnosed my 4mo. old son's lung condition that needed surgery. He is now a strapping, healthy 22yr old. Fond memories of a great doctor! You have our sympathies.

Dr. Barker was the pediatrician for both my sons into their teen years. His kindness, supportive attitude and sense of humor were amazing and appreciated, especially by a first-time mom filled with anxiety about what were the "right" things to do for her child.

After my children were grown, I crossed paths with Bakkerr at the school were I worked. As I approached my room I heard a deep melodic voice I immediately recognized, coming from the room next door. I peeked in the open door,...
