To the Laird Family,
I was assigned to the 46th ECB(H) with your son during our OIF 05-07 deployment. He was a great guy. Recently, I was reassigned back to Fort Polk in the very same Brigade. Dustin's picture, along with the pictures of our other Fallen Heros, are still displayed proudly in loving and grateful memory. I just wanted to let you know that we have not, nor ever will, forget.
Respectfully Yours,

I still find myself thinking about you everyday. I was telling stories about how well our team got along. The songs you would play outside my room when we first got to TQ and the impressions you could do. I have many sad memories of our time but I find peace in knowing I have videos and pictures of the many good times that we all shared. I may not have known you as well as so many others did but you are forever and always in my heart.

Please know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten. On Saturday May 23 I was honored to read the names of Tennessee's fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars at a ceremony in Washington DC at the WWII Memorial. Dustin Laird is remembered.
