Dustin Reed McEntire, 30, of North Platte, passed away Oct. 6, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 12, 1982, in North Platte to Ricky and Debra Campbell McEntire. Dustin attended North Platte High School.
He worked at Valentino's and other various jobs. On July 16, 2007, he was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed. He overcame many obstacles after the accident, rehabilitating with the help of Quality Living Inc. to the point of being independent and being able to return home to North Platte. He was an inspiration to many people who watched him come back from his injuries.
He loved online gaming, music and eating tacos. Everyone will remember his goofy smile.
Survivors include his son, Jeremiah, of North Platte; mom, Debra (Skeeter Theisen) McEntire, of Thornton, Colo.; father, Rick McEntire, of North Platte; two brothers, Jordan (Amber) McEntire and Jared McEntire, all of North Platte; maternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Campbell, of North Platte; step-grandfather, Jim Ripka, of Fort Lupton, Colo.; nieces, Seinna and McKenna McEntire, of North Platte; nephew, Dein McEntire, of North Platte; special aunt, Kathy Sprague, of North Platte; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both paternal grandparents, Florence and Coyton McEntire; maternal grandmother, Thelma Ripka; cousins, Cydney and Michelle Diaz; and two uncles, Lloyd Hubbard and Steve Campbell.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at Harvest Christian Fellowship with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery near Sutherland.
The casket will be closed. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., today, and Thursday, Oct. 10, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Love and miss you Dustin! Time passes but it still is a fresh wound.

I met Dustin at QLI. I loved his smile and his laugh. So sad to hear of his passing. Prayers going out to the family.

Wow Dustin who knew I was never gonna get our raincheck. Date?! If I would have known that was gonna be the last time I saw u I would have made myself feel well enough to go out with u! Deondray and I miss u dearly. Ur the only person that's ever called me sugar lips! missing u ;( Fly high!!!

So sorry for the lost of such a young man. He went through a lot. He is at peace now. I am praying for the family
