Dwane Miller

Coach Miller was my baseball coach at Sheldon High School for all three years of school. I was a pitcher, as he was, so he was able to help me build my pitching skills and repertoire of pitches. I considered Dwane as my mentor, role model and trusted adult during my high school years. I went on to play four years of college baseball and Coach Miller followed my career. He was a wonderful coach and mentor and I will value my memories of him.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Coach Miller. While at a rival high school (North Eugene) I spent 3 years competing against Coach Miller and his Irishmen. Upon graduating high school I had the enjoyment of joining Coach Miller’s team at Lane Community College, we had a a outstanding team and I was fortunate to get to know Coach on a personal level! He was a great leader and a better person, we lost a tremendous educator, he will be missed.
