Dwight Hanson

CEDAR FALLS-Dwight Martin Hanson, 54, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was born November 17, 1954, in Britt, Iowa, the son of Ralph Martin and Gloria Carol (Izzard) Hanson. He served his country in the United States Army. On July 11, 1992, he was united in marriage to Pauline (Dumer) Kent. He was employed at the Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls as a maintenance supervisor for 29 years. Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; son, Chad Hanson of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Jessie (Ryan) Miller and Gloria (Tricia) Homan, both of Waterloo; four sisters, Cheryl (Ray) Rinnels of Denver, Diane (Scott) Lucas of Montello, WI, Marlene Hanson of Rockford, IL, and Debra Osmus of Hustisford, WI; eleven grandchildren; and four step-daughters, Tracy (Rich) Billmeyer of Epworth, Jacki (Duston) Smith of Grundy Center, Echo Kent of Independence, and Samantha Austin of Waterloo. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Hanson and Gloria Carr; and sister, Sheila LeGrand. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with interment in Fairview Cemetery, both Cedar Falls.
