Not sure what to say?

He will be missed, a great man... very professional

So proud to have served under Gen Wheless in the Civil Air Patrol. I only met him once but could recognize immediately that he was an Officer, Gentleman and a true leader.
RIP Sir, you have a special place in heaven.

I was a client of Dwight's who only knew him by email and phone, yet I was impressed with his courtesy, humor and knowledge. I was also impressed by what people who had worked with him told me. Everyone I talked to spoke highly of him. I will miss him and I extend my condolences to his family; I know you will sorely miss this very special person.

Our sympathies to Dwight's family and loved ones. They are left with much to be proud of and remember. We hadn't been in touch often in recent years, but enjoyed fun times together in Manteo when we all were younger.

Also sending a special "hello" to Vickie -- one of Coach Pearce's favorite Manteo High baseball team managers.

So many memories of my Dear Friend Dwight..
I am proud you called me Friend as well. Fly High Sir and know you left a wonderful legacy. Prayers for each of your Family at this sad time for them.

Dwight made his Friends feel like they were the most special one in his life. I am so thankful to have him call me Friend. I will miss you always Dear Dear Dwight. And cherish so many memories. Fly high My Friend and thank you....

A special man and friend, it saddens me deeply to learn of Dwight's passing. So much to so many is a true credit to his life and family. Respected as a leader, Dwight always exceeded the call. Dwight gave love and earned the love of many. He was a wonderful person and a gift to this world. God bless Dwight and all that knew and loved him.

Jay, Lisa, Stephen, & Elizabeth, prayers for your comfort & strength during this trying time and the months into years ahead. Dwight fought a valiant battle against this dreadful disease. We know that you were all a great comfort & support to him on this final journey. Hold tight to the many memories which you all created & share. Our deepest condolences wrapped in loving hugs for all of you, Pete & Daphne

I was proud to have served with Dwight in the North Carolina Civil Air Patrol. His passing will be a big loss for that organization.
