I also remember talking with Gene at a UNH Commencement program. He mentioned that after he had replied that he would participate in the Commencement activities he had been invited to another event that, it was clear, he would have preferred to attend. Dear Ann - I am so sorry to hear this sad news; Gene and you were wonderful friends to us. I enjoyed working with Gene on the Maritime Heritage Commission; he was my mentor.. and we always managed to have a wonderful, fun time at the events. You and Gene opened your cottage, home and your lives to us all. We still fondly remember the wedding toast that Gene gave at our reception. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Ann and Family, we were saddened to hear of your loss. Gene was a dear and true friend many years ago when I was at the Port of NH in Portsmouth. We will always remember the kind farewell and sendoff given to us by Gene and Ann in their home. It is one of our fondest memories.
