With Dick's passing I have lost one of my oldest friends. We were in the same home room at Sidney Lanier Junior High in Houston for three years and were reunited as friends and fraternity brothers in Phi Delta Theta at SMU. I reconnected with Dick 10 years ago on a business trip to Austin when, of all things; I saw his name on an office directory while waiting for an elevator. In a friendship that lasted 60+ years Dick always remained the same wonderfully warm, handsome, very bright person I first encountered in home room. His energy and enthusiasm for life enriched the people he knew and while we will miss him, we can be comforted knowing that he will always be a part of our lives. God bless all of us who morn our loss and give comfort to his family.

It is with deep sorrow that I learn of our loss of Dick. In my years in working with Dick I will always remember his handsome smile and his positive attitude. Dick conducted himself with dignity and treated all who he came in contact with in a very respectful and gracious manner. Both professionally and personally, Dick was an individual that all could strive to emulate. He has left a great legacy and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Pat and his family.
